Content Moderation & Appeals Policy
Last updated May 11, 2026
GeoKiks uses a combination of **policies**, **automated systems**, **human review**, and **user reports** to reduce harm and enforce standards. This policy describes our general approach and appeals expectations.
1.Moderation approach
Moderation aims to reduce illegal content, severe safety risks, harassment, exploitation, and platform abuse while preserving lawful expression where consistent with policy and law.
2.Automated systems
GeoKiks may use classifiers, hash matching, spam signals, integrity models, and policy rules to detect potential violations. Automated systems can be imperfect; outputs may be over-inclusive or under-inclusive.
3.Human review
Human reviewers may evaluate reported items, high-risk categories, appeals, and policy edge cases. Review availability varies by region, language, and operational capacity.
4.User reports
Users may report content or accounts through in-product tools. False or abusive reporting may itself violate our Community Guidelines.
5.Emergency misinformation escalation
Reports involving plausible emergency misinformation or severe civic harm risk may receive priority routing where feasible. This does not guarantee immediate outcomes.
6.Content removal
We may remove or restrict content at the account, post, or feature level. Some restrictions may reduce distribution rather than delete content, depending on policy and product mechanics.
7.Account restrictions
We may apply warnings, temporary suspensions, feature locks, or permanent bans depending on severity, repetition, and risk.
8.Appeals
Where appeals are available, users should follow in-app instructions and provide relevant context. We may request additional information for verification. Appeals outcomes are not guaranteed to be favorable.
9.Repeat violations
Repeated violations may result in longer suspensions or permanent bans, even if individual incidents might otherwise warrant lighter action.
10.Transparency
Moderation is distinct from ranking; however, safety actions may affect distribution. See Platform Transparency & Recommendation Systems for ranking factors at a high level.
11.Contact
