Community Guidelines
Last updated August 15, 2026
These Community Guidelines apply to the GeoKiks Services, including Echo, Emergencies, Local Issues, comments, chats, direct messages, profiles, My People, and related features. They are part of the Terms of Service. Follow them. If you do not, GeoKiks may remove content or restrict the account.
1.Respect people
Do not dehumanize, pile on, or use GeoKiks to humiliate someone. Disagreement is allowed. Abuse is not.
2.Harassment and bullying
Do not harass or bully anyone. That includes targeted insults, coordinated pile-ons, and refusing to stop after someone asks you to leave them alone.
3.Threats and violence
Do not threaten violence or incite others to commit it. Do not celebrate violent crime against a specific person.
4.Hate and discrimination
Do not attack people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar protected characteristics recognized where you live.
5.Child safety
Child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sextortion, and sexualization of minors are banned. See the Child Safety policy. Report in the app or email safety@geokiks.com. If a child is in immediate danger, contact official emergency services for your location.
6.Sexual exploitation
Do not share intimate images without consent. Do not threaten to share them. Do not traffic or sexually exploit anyone.
7.Privacy
Do not post another person's private contact details, ID documents, or other private information without authorization. Do not share private messages without a lawful reason.
8.Stalking and location abuse
GeoKiks is a location-based service. That makes this rule especially important.
Do not use GeoKiks to stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass anyone. Do not monitor someone without proper authorization. Do not expose a home, school, workplace, or other private location to cause harm. Do not misuse My People location, Daily History, Trip History, Place Alerts, SOS, or Follow Live Directions.
Coercing someone into sharing location, or keeping sharing on after they asked you to stop in a way that violates these rules, is not allowed.
9.False emergencies
Do not post fake emergency reports, prank emergency reports, or information you know is false about an emergency. Do not impersonate police, fire, ambulance, or other emergency authorities. Do not tell people to move toward danger. Do not interfere with first responders.
10.Dangerous emergency information
Do not post directions that send people into an active incident, fire, flood, or crime scene. Do not post instructions for interfering with dispatch or official response. Follow official instructions on the ground.
11.False Local Issues
Do not knowingly post false Local Issues, fake closures, or invented hazards. Mistakes happen. Repeating a claim after you know it is false does not.
12.Fraud and scams
Do not use GeoKiks to scam, phish, or defraud anyone. That includes fake charities after a disaster and fake "official" payment requests.
13.Spam
Do not flood feeds, chats, or messages with bulk or repetitive content. Do not use automation to spam.
14.Impersonation
Do not impersonate another person, a business, or a government or emergency authority. Paid Verified, Business Verified, and Government Verified badges are commercial GeoKiks marks. They are not a government ID check.
15.Illegal goods and services
Do not offer or solicit illegal goods or services, including illegal weapons and illegal drugs.
16.Dangerous organizations
Do not use GeoKiks to promote terrorism or violent extremist activity, or to recruit for it.
17.Copyright and intellectual property
Respect copyright, trademark, and similar rights. Copyright notices: dmca@geokiks.com and the Copyright and DMCA Policy.
18.Manipulated or misleading media
Do not post edited, generated, or out-of-context media in a way that is meant to deceive people about a real emergency, a real person, or official action. Label satire clearly if the content could be mistaken for a real report.
19.Reporting
You can report posts, comments, chats, direct messages, and profiles in the apps. You can block users. For child safety, also see safety@geokiks.com.
False or abusive reporting can itself violate these guidelines.
20.Enforcement
Depending on the case, GeoKiks may remove or limit content, warn the account, restrict features, suspend the account, or terminate the account. Some Echo media is scanned automatically for nudity, sexual content, and graphic violence. Reports go to a queue. Human review happens when staffed.
GeoKiks does not promise that every violation will be found or that every report will be reviewed in a set number of hours. Blocking a My People connection is intended to stop their location access.
21.Appeals
Where GeoKiks offers an appeal, follow the in-app instructions or the Content Moderation and Appeals Policy at https://geokiks.com/legal/moderation-appeals. There is no guaranteed timeline or outcome. If in-app flow is unavailable, email support@geokiks.com.
