Community Guidelines

Last updated May 12, 2026

GeoKiks connects people through **real places** and **real events**. These Community Guidelines (“**Guidelines**”) describe the conduct we expect on GeoKiks, a **location-based social and civic service** for geo-tagged media, local information, and **public safety** and community content. They work alongside our **Terms of Service**, **Privacy Policy**, **Child Safety & Minor Protection Policy**, **Content Moderation & Appeals Policy**, and applicable law. **GeoKiks may** update these Guidelines as risks, features, and community norms change.

1.Our community mission

We aim to help people learn what is happening nearby, support one another, and respond thoughtfully to local events through the Home Feed, Emergencies, Local Issues, Public Alerts, GeoDrop, My People, maps, and geo-tagged media. GeoKiks is not emergency dispatch, a government alert authority, or a law enforcement agency.

We enforce these Guidelines using human review, automated detection, and user reports, subject to technical limits, regional law, and proportionality. We do not guarantee removal of all violative content or that enforcement will meet every user’s expectations.

2.Safety first

Do not post content that incites, instructs, or coordinates violence against people, animals where prohibited, or property in ways that create imminent danger. Do not encourage users to confront armed individuals, enter hazardous scenes, or obstruct roads used by emergency vehicles.

Do not post life-safety instructions that reasonably appear to be professional medical, electrical, hazmat, or structural advice unless you are clearly qualified and the product feature explicitly supports that content. Even then, users must call professionals and local emergency services for emergencies.

3.Emergency, civic, and public safety content integrity

You must not fabricate false emergencies, false hazards, bomb threats, active shooter claims, missing person scams, or other panic-inducing events you know or should know are untrue. Satire must be unmistakable in context; ambiguous panic posts may be removed or labeled.

You must not engage in panic manipulation, for example coordinated alarmist reposts designed to disrupt schools, venues, transit, hospitals, or elections without factual basis or with reckless disregard for truth when severe harm is foreseeable.

You must not swat (false law-enforcement emergency reports), flood emergency lines through the platform’s reporting flows, publish fake evacuation routes, or simulate official responder communications.

Do not post instructions that could interfere with dispatch, 911/112/999 systems, air traffic, rail, hospital surge operations, or incident command communications, including jamming guidance, spoofed tones, or interference with two-way radio protocols.

4.Public safety and civic misinformation

Do not deliberately spread false or misleading information about imminent natural disasters, weaponized substances, contagious disease outbreaks, polling or vote procedures when such content is likely to suppress participation or misdirect the public, evacuation or shelter instructions, or crime patterns that could cause vigilantism.

Parody, commentary, and opinion are not blanket exemptions when presentation or timing is likely to cause mass harm or targeted harassment of public-safety personnel or victims.

5.Violence, threats, and incitement

Do not threaten violence against a specific person or definable group; doxxing combined with threats is treated as especially severe. Do not glorify or promote terrorist acts, mass violence, or serial crimes in ways that recruit, radicalize, or incite copycat behavior.

We may escalate credible threats of imminent harm to law enforcement where permitted. Artistic or gaming depictions may still violate these Guidelines if they target real people, minors, or victim communities abusively.

6.Criminal activity, weapons, and facilitation

Do not use GeoKiks to coordinate crimes, recruit for criminal enterprises, sell illegal drugs or regulated substances outside law, traffic people, launder money, evade law enforcement, or solicit minors for unlawful acts.

Do not facilitate unlicensed firearms transactions where law requires licensing; do not post blueprints or instruction for improvised weapons if intended for harm or illegal use. Local law governs what is restricted; we may geo-restrict or remove content globally if policy risk is severe.

7.Harassment, bullying, and abusive targeting

Do not engage in repeated insults, slurs, sexual remarks, body shaming, pile-ons, brigading, or calls to harass someone off-platform. Do not exploit power imbalances (for example employer vs. employee harassment) through GeoKiks messaging or posts.

Location features must not be used to stalk, intimidate, or coordinate harassment. Publishing someone’s routes or schedule to invite abuse may violate our doxxing rules.

8.Hate speech and hate organizations

Do not attack people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, serious disease status, immigration status when used as a slur, or other protected characteristics under applicable law or our severity thresholds for hate.

Do not glorify, fund, or recruit for hate organizations or designated violent extremist groups where such references promote harm or terrorism. Historical education must not cross into praise of violence against people today.

9.Terrorism and violent extremism

Do not post terrorist propaganda intended to radicalize, instructional content facilitating attacks, or fundraisers for proscribed organizations. We cooperate with lawful investigations where required and preserve data under applicable process.

News discussion may be permitted with context that condemns violence and avoids heroizing perpetrators; graphic gore may still be removed under graphic content rules.

10.Child safety and sexual exploitation

Zero tolerance: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sextortion involving minors, and sexualization of minors (including stylized or clothed sexual framing) are prohibited. Violations may be reported to NCMEC or other competent authorities as required by law.

See our Child Safety & Minor Protection Policy for depth. Medical or educational content about minors may be allowed only where non-exploitative, non-sexual, and contextually necessary.

11.Grooming, predatory conduct, and unsafe contact with minors

Do not flirt with minors, request offline meetings without verified guardian involvement where appropriate, send sexual compliments, share pornographic material, or attempt to isolate minors from guardians. Age-play or pretending to be a minor to elicit contact is prohibited.

Do not coordinate “dating” adults with minors, arrange unsupervised contact, or traffic minors. Repeat predatory signals may trigger device-level restrictions where platform policy allows.

12.Sexual content involving adults and non-consensual imagery

Do not post non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) or deepfake intimate media without consent. Sexual extortion, revenge porn, and commercial sexual exploitation are banned. Adult sexual content must comply with law and product age-gating where enabled.

13.Suicide, self-harm, and dangerous stunts

Do not promote, instruct, or glorify suicide or self-harm methods. Pro-eating-disorder content, cutting instruction, or suicide challenges are prohibited. We may surface help resources where appropriate.

Dangerous stunt or challenge content that is likely to cause serious injury (including vehicular stunts, firearms mishandling, or heights risk) may be removed or restricted.

14.Misinformation and deceptive civic claims

Beyond public safety rules, do not orchestrate large-scale deception intended to suppress voting, mislead about official results processes, or scam communities with fake charity drives after disasters.

Opinion and satire should be clearly framed; ambiguous posts that weaponize uncertainty during crises may be labeled or downranked.

15.Location privacy, doxxing, stalking, and location abuse

Do not publish private residential addresses, full legal documents with unredacted PII, financial account details, medical records, or phone numbers for harassment (doxxing). Do not post live, unconsented precise locations of others to intimidate or coordinate harm.

Do not use GeoKiks to stalk or monitor intimate partners, coworkers, or minors without lawful authority and appropriate consent. My People-style features must not be weaponized for coercion.

Avoid exposing sensitive facilities (for example domestic violence shelters, witness protection context, minor schools/routines) in ways that endanger individuals.

16.Impersonation, scams, fraud, and platform manipulation

Do not impersonate individuals, government agencies, brands, news outlets, election officials, health authorities, or first responders in a misleading way. Parody accounts must be clearly labeled and must not cause harm.

Prohibit phishing, fake support accounts, investment scams, romance scams, cryptocurrency rug-pull promotion, counterfeit sales, and fraudulent fundraising. Do not fake engagement metrics, sell accounts, or buy bot traffic.

17.Spam, inauthentic behavior, and artificial engagement

Do not spam identical or near-identical posts, misuse hashtags, mass-mention users, or scraping the Services for unsolicited outreach. Do not coordinate like/follow exchanges primarily to game ranking.

Use of multiple accounts to evade enforcement or amplify harassment may lead to network bans.

18.Coordinated harm, brigading, and organized harassment

Do not organize brigades to mass-report benign content, swarm victims with insults, or coordinate off-platform raids tied to GeoKiks accounts. State-sponsored manipulation or covert influence operations may be removed and reported where permitted.

19.Illegal goods, services, and regulated activity

Do not use GeoKiks to sell or solicit illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen property, human smuggling, hacking-for-hire, malware, bypass devices where illegal, or unlicensed professional services where law requires licensing.

20.Graphic content, gore, and violent imagery

Excessive gore, dismemberment, torture imagery, or animal cruelty (where prohibited) may be removed or blurred. Newsworthy documentation of real events may remain with warnings and context where appropriate and lawful.

21.Manipulated media and deceptive synthetic content

Do not post synthetic or heavily edited audio, video, or imagery intended to deceive viewers about real-world events, speech ascribed to people, or official documents, where such deception is likely to cause harm. Parody and clear artistic transformation should be obvious.

Deepfakes used for harassment, fraud, or political deception are prohibited. We may adopt labeling or metadata disclosures as technologies mature.

22.Public alerts, community reporting, and system integrity

Submit reports in good faith. Do not weaponize reporting to silence competitors, journalists, or minorities; do not spam duplicate reports to circumvent queues. False emergency volume may be criminal in your jurisdiction.

23.How to report content or behavior

Use Report flows in the product to flag posts, accounts, or messages. Provide accurate categories and context. For intellectual property, follow our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services before relying on GeoKiks moderation timelines. You may also email support@geokiks.com for platform-related safety concerns.

24.Enforcement approach, strikes, and escalation

Enforcement may include: content removal or visibility reduction; warnings; feature restrictions (for example commenting, GeoDrop, or live features); temporary suspension; permanent account ban; indefinite suspension pending investigation; and referral to law enforcement when legally permitted or required.

Severity factors include harm potential (especially to minors or public safety), intent, reach, prior violations, attempted evasion, and coordination. Single severe violations (for example CSAM, terror plotting, credible imminent threats) may bypass warnings.

GeoKiks may use automation to detect policy breaches; human staff may review edge cases, appeals, and complex civic contexts.

25.Automated moderation, human review, and law enforcement

Automated systems (classifiers, hash matching for known CSAM, spam models, integrity signals) help scale enforcement and minimize exposure of reviewers to traumatic media. They can err; appeals exist where described in our Content Moderation & Appeals Policy.

Human reviewers exercise judgment on nuance, cultural context, and satire. We provide training and well-being support for reviewers as appropriate.

We escalate to law enforcement where legally required (for example mandatory CSAM reporting) or where we have a good-faith belief of imminent harm and disclosure is permitted.

26.Appeals and mistake correction

If you believe enforcement was incorrect or disproportionate, follow our Content Moderation & Appeals Policy for timelines, submission requirements, and repeat appeal limits. Good-faith mistakes are corrected; frivolous appeals may be deprioritized.

27.Emergencies and after-hours safety

GeoKiks does not dispatch emergency services. For fires, crimes in progress, medical emergencies, or missing children in immediate danger, dial your local emergency number and follow official instructions. See our Safety & Emergency Disclaimer.
